Alongside welcoming Sandy Foster as our new Chair, WCHT has hit key milestones in its mission to deliver secure housing: activating our 15th long-term rental, reaching in-principle bankability to unlock future builds, and receiving outstanding feedback in our latest tenant survey. Meanwhile, we have continued sector-wide advocacy at the CHA conference and Auckland Foundation roundtable, while keeping the pressure on Auckland Council for local granny flat guidance.

With our property management initiative in a strong, stable position WCHT’s attention turned towards advocacy and bigger picture matters: Enabling the island’s 300 Visitor Accommodation Units to be lived in; making sure the government understands Waiheke’s perspective when it comes to their whirlwind of housing proposals; and getting our first build in 5 years underway.
